Sam Johnson has been making waves recently, and his latest single, ‘Shoulder To Cry On’, is his best work yet. The release on the single coincides with his EP, Are We There Yet?, which is a five-track tour-de-force of his ambitious, introspective releases across 2020. “It is a body of work that sways in torrents of emotion that even I struggle to define or understand,” he explains, talking about the EP as a whole. “On a musical level, it's been a part of my growth, but on a personal level, it's a much-needed bit of closure to a beloved time in my life that I need to leave behind in order to move forward.” This single is one of the more reflective tunes on the collection, delivered via melody-driven folk-pop. -Dan Peeke
